Affiliate-Marketing-Rules

Affiliate Marketing Rules

So you have been wanting to get into affiliate marketing, and want to know the rules. You have your website and or blog all set up and ready to go. You have chosen your niche and market that you want to promote and make money off of. You just need links to start making money. Promoting other’s services and products is not something that is difficult to do. However, you will find that with all of the many companies that offer affiliate programs, and referral options, they all have their own rules that you must follow.

Affiliate marketing is pretty easy to follow, that is unless you have many different programs that you are a part of. When you start getting so many that you cannot remember the rules, or the guidelines that you have to follow, you might have a problem. This is because the rules for affiliate programs are as different as the companies. Each company is allowed to make their own rules. However, you might see many similarities. That does not mean that they are copying one another, or cloning their affiliate program so to speak, but yet it means that they have the same rules.

Affiliate marketing rules can be so very different. They can range from not mentioning the brand names that they sell anywhere on your website, to not have that particular market in your website URL. Because they are so different for each program and company that you promote, you are going to have to be sure that you read each one well and make sure that you understand it fully. If you all ready have your URL for your website, you may not be able to participate in some of the affiliate programs. This is because you will not meet the requirements for the rules.

Another rule that you are going to see often when you are into affiliate marketing is the page rank rule. Some of the companies that will allow you to promote their services or products will not want you to have a higher page rank than they do. Nor will they allow you to have a website that is higher in the search engine rankings. For example, if you were promoting coffee, and you wanted to become an affiliate for Folgers coffee. Your website would not be able to come up above the official Folgers coffee website in the search engine results when coffee, or Folgers coffee is used as the search term. The companies that have this rule in place for their affiliate marketing programs feel as if your website were higher than theirs for the product that they are selling, that it would hurt their business tremendously. And, it just might. They would rather have the straight sales any day, than the commissioned sales. Who wouldn’t?

Keeping a spreadsheet of the affiliate marketing programs that you are a part of and their rules is a great idea. This way you are never confused and know just where you need to stand to be a part of that program. This is the best thing that you can do for your affiliate marketing business. Not only that, you will also find that some of the sites that have broken rules and have been caught have resulted in law suits. Cover your tracks and make sure that you are following the rules that are set by that company for the best results.

You will also find that there is a thing that is called affiliate marketing software. If you can find a program that fits your needs and will help you keep everything straight, you may not have to worry about keeping track of them yourself. Use your software to keep track and make sure that you are doing your affiliate marketing the right way. Your efforts will pay off eventually, and you will be glad that you went by the book and followed the necessary affiliate marketing rules.

3-Things-All-Affiliate-Marketer-Need-To-Survive-Online

3 Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Survive Online

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication. There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day. Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do. Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…

It is all free: A better way to get traffic.

Turbo Viral Traffic is a new site that says it guarantees more CONVERTING web visitors and online advertising with very little effort or cost. So I decided to put it to the test...
My first impression was the site looks professional and clean, with an attractive look and feel. It is easy to read and understand. Joining the site was easy and painless--they do offer 2 upgrade options but they are not required to gain the benefits.

The Members Area is very well laid out and intuitive--I could figure out what to do after only a few minutes and was able to get up and running in less than 5 minutes. Inside the site, you create links and ads--the links you simply enter any URL links you use into the generator and it transforms them into "Turbo Viral Traffic" links. You create ads for anything you want to promote using the Turbo Viral Traffic Ad Generator, which is very easy to use. You can create as many links and as many ads as you like. And they are organized in a logical way--links are displayed in the order you create them but also your 5 most recent links appear on the main page for quick reference. Also, since the link generator is the tool you'll use most, it is also right at the top of the main page when you login. Very smart!

After you've created at least 1 link and 1 ad you can start to generate traffic. Just use and promote the new Turbo Viral Traffic link instead of the original source link you had. Every time the Turbo Viral Traffic link is clicked, the page loads followed by a cool slide-up ad window at the bottom. It displays an ad PLUS an image with your affiliate link that goes back to Turbo Viral Traffic. So if anyone clicks the Turbo Viral Traffic image they see the site, and if they signup they become your referral. It's a great viral feature because you can build referrals without even trying to just by using the site.

Now every time the ad window displays (your Turbo Viral Traffic links get clicked) you earn credits that get YOUR ad displayed in the ad windows when other members' links get clicked. So the more clicks, the more times your ads get displayed.

And this works virally--meaning as you make referrals into Turbo Viral Traffic (either by promoting it or just using it and visitors click the Turbo Viral Traffic image on the ad window to join) you also earn ad credits on THEIR link clicks. And this works up to 5 levels deep. So you can create a massive amount of free ad views and web traffic by referring others to Turbo Viral Traffic also.

I didn't get to test the full effect of a big downline yet (I just got the tool) but I can tell you the rest of the site works exactly as stated--my links got clicked, I earned credits, and my ads got displayed. Turbo Viral Traffic even tracked my results so I know how many clicks and how many ad displays. That was an impressive unadvertised extra feature.

There is one more benefit and feature which might be the best of them all--downline emailing. You can email your downline with offers, promotions, or whatever you like, and here is where Turbo Viral Traffic really shines. They took time to make the emailing often enough that it's valuable as a user, but no so often that it's a burden to your downline. But the best part about this feature (and actually the credit earning too) is that it tells you exactly how long until you can mail again. Now THAT's cool.

Overall I have to say I am impressed with Turbo Viral Traffic. It is simple yet powerful, and delivers on its promises. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to increase traffic and advertising.

Finding Traffic For my List

Well, today I took the plunge into contextual marketing.  This may be the last plunge I take.  The idea behind contextual marketing is that a person downloads a free gizmo for their computer and agrees to accept advertising in return.  Then you can pay to have your keywords advertised on their computer.

Danger Will Robinson

If you want to use this kind of advertising I found out that you need to check out the advertising companies carefully because many of them spam peoples computers using spyware--not cool.  It could ruin your reputation and get you kicked out of affiliate programs if you use the wrong company.

Also, you need to control your keywords very carefully.  Don't ever use broad terms in your keywords because I did and got a ton of traffic but no sales.  Ouch!  There is a great website that can rate your keywords for commercial value.  It is free and can be found at   http://adlab.msn.com/Online-Commercial-Intention/

The Money Is In The List

After making about $4000.00 writing articles for The Every Other Day Diet.  My keywords quit producing traffic.  Unfortunately I was spending all of my time writing under those keywords instead of branching out.  Now I realize I need to build a mailing list.

Basically I need to create a free offer with a squeeze page to collect these names.  Then I need to give quality content along with some offers.  So this is what I am going to begin to do.  The Shoemoney System is teaching me a lot and I recommend it to those who really want to learn Internet Marketing.

Advertising Is The Big Sticking Point

You can write your butt off—yea I don't have one anymore—hope you can achieve a high position on the natural search results for your keywords hope that those keywords are germane to your audience and hope that they will like the product you are promoting.  The one good point is that this is all free except for your bleeding stumps that use to be your fingers and that strange twitching of your left eye.

Or you can buy traffic and hope that your ad is germane to your audience and that they will buy the product you are promoting.  This is expensive and unless you get it right you will simply be enriching Google so they can have even more control over the Internet—sigh.  The question is where do you find advertising that is affordable and not some scam?

Right now it is Google 120 Me 47.5 so you can see who is winning this game.  I am going to look for other ways to advertise and I'll let you know how it goes.

The Email Squeeze Page Problem

So I built this great squeeze page all connected up to Mail Chip and it works great.  You get a free article marketing report in exchange for your email.  Now I am wondering how to drive quality traffic to my squeeze page.

At first I thought I'd use google ads.  HA!  That was a joke.  They wanted $2 to $3 a click and I don't have any idea what traffic to this squeeze page will be worth.  So back to the drawing board.  Well, at least I have the squeeze page set up.. Oh, by the way, if you want a decent overview of what you can expect from article marketing click here.

On To Email Marketing

Ye gads!  I am starting my email marketing campaign today.  It consists of creating a squeeze page and then driving traffic to it.  This stuff really grates on my impatience.  I want to see money now, but I know I have to wait for this system to start working.  This is the kind of things I am learning with the Shoemoney System and Wealthy Affiliate University, which by the way, has just unveiled one of the most awesome 12 week Internet courses I have seen.

I am going to offer free papers on Internet marketing on my squeeze page so if you want some go to http://www.webproduct.info/Free%20Report and get your copy.  It is actually good stuff.

An Epiphany

Boy is it rough here.  Mother nature has dumped 3 feet of snow on us.  I finally got our to take a walk today.  It was so bright my eyes were watering and I was blinking the whole way.  Ah well, it was refreshing.  Anyway, as I was walking I was thinking about Adsense.  For those of you unfamiliar with Adsense it is a way to have advertisements put on your blog and then when some one clicks on it, you get a few cents.  You have to have some pretty serious traffic in order to make any real money.

As I was thinking about the $30 I had made in the last two years with Adsense it suddenly came to me.  Why not put my own affiliate ads in place of Adsenses ads.  That way if some one buys something through one of those ads I'll make some real money.  As it turns out there are places on the web that will prepare these ads for you with your affiliate links attached and the look just like Adsense ads.  No I'll have to wait and see if this makes a big difference.

Shoemoney So Far...

I have spent two days learning from Jeremy Shoemaker's Shoemoney system and so far we had step by step instructions on how to set up a gmail account and why you will need one.  We have learned about the six ways to make money off of the Internet and have listened to a Q & A webinar.

I am the kind of guy that plows right in.  This has been good sometimes and bad sometimes.  Jeremy's system doesn't let me plow right in.  It is timed out so that I have to watch every video.  The surprising thing is is that I have learned stuff from the videos I normally would have skipped.

The $200 a month fee—actually its $197—will come out to be about $2400 for the year long course.  That is because this is serious stuff.  If it continues the way it has gone so far then I would say that this course is undervalued.  In other words it will actually be worth a lot more than $2400.

The Cheap Seats

Since I started trying to earn money online, I have been plowed over by offers.  You go to their website and its $47 to buy this system that is suppose to get you earning $100,000 with in a year—yea right.  No one would offer a truly working system like that for $47.  And what makes it more laughable is that when you click away from the their sites you will get this, BUT WAIT thing, that says if you act now you'll get the whole system plus x amount of dollars worth of free gifts for only $17—what happened to the $47.  On one site I kept clicking away until they were trying to pedal their AMAZAING MONEY MAKING program to my for $7.  I think a lot of internet marketing right now is clever people selling crap to gullible people and it works.  I don't want to make money on the internet if that is the way it is.

Don't Go Cheap

If someone is trying to sell you an Internet program that is suppose to make you a living from affiliate marketing for $47 you can bet it ain't worth squat.  Simple economics will tell you that.  If something can really teach you a skill where you will earn a lot of money doing it, then the lessons will be more expensive than $47.  You pay for value.

Be Prepared To Pay $$

There is a reason community college is cheaper then Harvard and that is due, in part at least, to the fact that a Harvard degree will earn you a lot more money than a community college degree.  It is the same with Internet marketing.  So look for the following points if you want to become an Internet marketer who makes a living at it. Buy the courses if...
  1. The people offering the courses are credible and have Internet marketing pedigrees
  2. The price isn't too low indicating that what is being sold is junk
  3. The course has verifiable money back offers for a reasonable period
  4. There isn't any over promising and hype
  5. The payments are monthly and not demanded up front
  6. You have researched the program and the authors of the program.
Hint:  If you have never heard of these guys and you can't find them on the internet then forget it.

Good quality instruction is expensive but it will more than pay for itself and believe me $47 isn't going to buy you that.

Ok I Think I Have A Plan

I have been wondering lately how to move forward in affiliate marketing, how to have affiliate marketing success.  If i had to start over today here are the steps I'd take.

  1. Join Wealth Affiliates
  2. Spend a month reading everything on that sight.
  3. Select a product with around a gravity around 30 that had a good pitch page.
  4. Then write, write , write.
As I made some money I would progress to the only other really honest teaching site that I have found Shoemoney which is a place where you are given specific step by step video lessons on how Internet marketing works by Jeremy Shoemaker.

Wealthy Affiliates is a community of internet marketers and its value lies in networking and the tools available on the site.  Shoemoney's value is in the step by step instructions you receive.  Usually one video lesson every 3 days.  It cost about $200 a month, but you actually do get what you pay for.

These are the actual programs that I am using to try and become an affiliate marketer.  The men that run these sites are some of the best affiliate marketers on the web so I figure If they can't teach me, no one can.  I'll keep you posted on how it is going.

Seeking New Streams

A lot of people think that affiliate marketing is dieing but I beg to differ.  It is changing and getting more competitive.  Right now it is like a gold rush, but as with all gold rushes they eventually slow down.  That is comming.  A lot of folks were thrown into a tizzy about the new FTC rules, but if you are an honest person you have nothing much to worry about there.

Right now is the time to join Wealthy Affiliates or Shoemoney and LEARN!

Been busy

Well it seems like I have hit a wall.  Most weeks I am earning around $300 which is not bad for some extra spending money, but since I am unemployed at the moment it doesn't begin to cover my needs and I am writing all of the time.  I have wasted a lot of money trying to get PPC campaigns up and running.  PPC, for those that don't know, are where you pay search engines to place you ad when someone types in your selected keywords.  You only pay if someone clicks on the ad.

It is hard to get people to buy once they have clicked on an ad so you can end up losing a lot of money.  Anyway I have signed up for Jeremy Shoemaker's Shomoney program.  It cost around $200 a month, but if there is anyway to make a living as an affiliate, he will teach you.  This is simply the best program for the money.  You'd have to spend $1000 for this kind of coaching.  I'll let you know if I can break the $300 a week barrier soon.

By the way, if you visit Shoemoney and I recomend you do if you want to succeed, be paitent.  The Shoemoney page takes forever to load.
