Finding Traffic For my List

Well, today I took the plunge into contextual marketing.  This may be the last plunge I take.  The idea behind contextual marketing is that a person downloads a free gizmo for their computer and agrees to accept advertising in return.  Then you can pay to have your keywords advertised on their computer.

If you want to use this kind of advertising I found out that you need to check out the advertising companies carefully because many of them spam peoples computers using spyware--not cool.  It could ruin your reputation and get you kicked out of affiliate programs if you use the wrong company.

Also, you need to control your keywords very carefully.  Don't ever use broad terms in your keywords because I did and got a ton of traffic but no sales.  Ouch!  There is a great website that can rate your keywords for commercial value.  It is free and can be found at   http://adlab.msn.com/Online-Commercial-Intention/
